Asus launches Zenfone Max Pro M1 in India

The Taiwanese brand ASUS has launched its very first stock android phone Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 in India on 23-04-2018. Looks like the main motive behind this launch is to compete Xiaomi which has launched its Redmi Note 5 and Note 5 Pro. By this launch, Asus has dropped another phone into the pool of midrange smartphones in India.

In this article let’s discuss the specifications and the reasons why a buyer can choose ASUS ZENFONE MAX PRO M1.

Talking about the design this model looks good. This phone has its body made of aluminum. This mobile is going to be available in two different colors Titanium grey and black. The phone weighs around 180 grams which are nearly equal to the Redmi Note 5 pro. The dimensions of this mobile are 159 x 76 x 8.5 mm. Though this phone’s thickness is about 8.5mm, thanks to its curved edges, it doesn’t appear to be as 8.5mm thick, but as a matter of fact, this phone is a bit thicker than Redmi Note 5 Pro.

This mobile provides a screen ratio of 18:9 like Note 5 Pro. The lock button and volume buttons are easily reachable and so is the fingerprint sensor. Asus has provided micro-USB cable in this mobile. The sim tray provides slots for two sim cards and micro SD card in which the capacity support goes up to 2TB.

Asus has chosen Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 Kryo Octa-core Processor at a clock rate of 1.8GHz for this mobile which is no surprise to the users. This is the same processor that is provided in Redmi Note 5 Pro. Talking about the variants available, Asus has officially confirmed two variants, a 3GB RAM variant, and a 4GB RAM variant. Buzz is that the company will soon launch a 6GB variant in this mobile.

As mentioned earlier this is the first mobile of ASUS which runs on the pure stock android version. This phone runs on Android Oreo 8.1. The company promises to give all the Android Oreo features and to give the facial recognition feature. The company also claims that apps like Facebook, Messenger, Instagram are pre-installed.

Coming to the camera, this mobile of Asus Zenfone Max Pro A1 has a dual rear camera of 13 MP + 5 MP which is better than the camera of Redmi Note 5 Pro (12 MP + 5 MP). The front camera is of 8 MP which is weak when compared to Redmi Note 5 Pro (20 MP). Front LED flash is provided in this mobile. The company assures the users that this phone can record 4K HD videos.

Coming to the battery, this phone has a massive battery of 5000 mAh, which justifies the name and the weight of this smartphone. A 10W charger is provided in the phone box. Though there is no fast charge option mentioned by the company, it looks like this 10W charger helps the battery to fast charge. The company claims that this phone provides 25-hour continuous video playback which is really a good thing.

Coming to the sound quality, a single speaker is provided at the bottom, but the company assures that single speaker can go very loud.

Talking about the price the 3GB variant costs Rs. 10,999 and the 4GB variant costs Rs. 12,999. The price of the high-end variant is less than the price of the base version of Redmi Note 5 Pro (Rs. 13,999).

This stock-Android phone ASUS is definitely a competitor to Xiaomi owned Redmi Note 5 Pro. On comparing both the mobiles ASUS’s mobile has lost only at the front camera. 8MP front camera is provided in ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 where as 20MP front camera is provided in Redmi Note 5 Pro.

Finally, it can be said this ASUS’s mobile is going to be the best competitor to Redmi Note 5 Pro. I can’t wait to have this phone. The First sale of Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 on 3rd May at 12:00 Noon. The Offer provided by the Flipkart is You get the complete mobile protection is on Rs 49 only.
