Unboxing Mi A1 – Review

Xiaomi is the Top selling brand of India because of its cheap and feature-packed smartphone that comes with the fingerprint sensor and IR blaster that was previously available on premium phones now these features are available on most affordable devices also. Xiaomi released a lot of new products this year like Mi speaker, Mi power bank, and Mi A1.

Mi A1 is fantastic because it connects to Google. Mi A1 the new best-selling smartphone by Xiaomi in India. The phone is made by the Xiaomi under the Software shelter of Googe in Android One program, with Android One Mi A1 will get updates for 2 years including Android Oreo and Android P.  The updates will directly come from Google itself through OTA updates.

Mi A1 features:-

Unboxing Mi A1 I see that It has 5.5″ inch screen with 1080x1920p IPS-LCD display with the battery of 3080mAh that helps the phone to run for straight 8hrs with normal usage no screen off. It has 4GB of RAM that allows the device to run smoothly. The phone is equipped with a 2Ghz processor, 625 64GB of internal storage.

In-camera section the Mi A1 has 12MP+12MP dual camera setup at the back and 5MP at front. The dual camera is capable if clicking Portrait mode images and wide angle images.

Unboxing Mi A1:-

While Unboxing Mi A1, I found that in the box there are not many things included there is SIM ejector, USB cable, Charging adapter, warranty card, user manual, screen guard (not glass) and of course the A1 device.

Holding in hand the phone feels premium and slippery too. The big display makes it look awesome.

Booting up Mi A1 the first thing that happens is signup process after that the Mi A1 will automatically download four of the Mi apps: Mi remote, Mi community, Mi feedback and Mi Store.

The overall look of the Mi A1 is really good and speaking of features. Mi A1 has 2.5D curved glass and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The Mi A1 body looks like other Xiaomi smartphones, but the device is different from other Mi devices it doesn’t run on MIUI it runs on Stock Android 7.1.2 out of the box.

Gaming and Performance:-

While playing games the device shows an incredible lag-free environment, I have played Shadow Fight 3 in this phone after getting hands-on and the game runs so smooth.

Switching between apps and game is also so smooth.

The battery is average on this device it’s only 3080mAh but due to the stock Android optimization the device is capable of running for a day with normal usage, it can handle routine tasks very efficiently. In my case, i used the device from 100% to  40% clicking images and playing games surfing the internet all nonstop the discharge rate of the battery was really very low it took 5hr and 30min to discharge to 40% and still it was capable of giving 8hrs of battery if I use device normally.

System Updates:-

Mi A1 will get Android Oreo update at the end of the year 2017 or the earlier weeks if January 2018. The latest beta update of Mi A1 shows that the Oreo update will bring fast charging support, but for that, you will have to purchase another adapter because Mi stock adapter isn’t able to support fast charge. The Oreo update is available in beta stages that contains some bugs and these bugs will be fixed as soon as the public/stable version of Oreo for Mi A1 will release.

Final Thoughts:-

This device is the best device in the price range of Rs14999 go it has all features which are needed by a normal user, from metal unibody to Guaranteed system updates for 2 years directly from Google everything is so good in this device and don’t forget this device is going to be the first device to get fastest Android P update as soon as it will be released.

If you planning to gift others or purchase Android device for yourself this phone is perfect for you.
