Mi Band 3
Xiaomi has improved its fitness tracker device the Mi band. Xiaomi has done a lot of improvements in the band since the launch of first band which was not having any interface but it was the first budget tracker that came from Mi and it can perform a lot of various operations like Step counter and calories burned which was only available to premium fitness trackers by Fitbit. But with the second release of Mi Band we got the interface with the heart rate sensor now the users can track there BPM with simple and minimal interface. Users was able to operate the band with a single button that was present in the bottom of the display.
In The Box
The band comes with a nice looking package with transparent glass on the top. The box contains the Mi band capsule, strap (which is only available in black color), USB cable for charging, User manual.
Taking the first look the capsule looks great and slippery but with the strap it fits on the hand securely. The back of the capsule is made of the Aluminium with a green light coming from the sensor that measures the heart rate. The capsule is easy to fit but hard to remove from the strap, really it took me 3-4 tries to remove it from the strap.
In terms of Fitness tracker it can track total number of steps, calories burned, distance walked and in the we also got an exercise mode which can be very useful for the active user activity tracking. It is also water resistant and it can handle 5ATM pressure under water which is equal to 50m depth.
- Display time : The default screen shows the time and there is a setting in Mi Fit app that will turn on the gesture that will help the user to see the time with the raise of the hand.
- Sleep monitor : That will track the sleep.
- Weather forecast.
- DND Mode : Through which users can silent their phones with the band itself.
- Phone locator : It will turn on a alarm on the device that can be tuned off from the band.
Mi band now shows the notification on the display. When you get any notifications on your device the band will show the notification on the band with a vibration. Users can also see the incoming calls and they can reject the calls directly from the band.
The Mi band 3 has the dimesion 17.9×46.9×12 mm and it comes with the strap which is only available in black color only. The length of the strap is 247mm and it can fit any wrist size. The size of the screen which will be seen to the users is 0.78 inch. The resolution of the screen 128×80.
It is packed with 3-axis accelerometer and PPG heart rate sensor that measures the activities accurately with the precision. The band weight only 0.20grams and its is all made with plastic. The battery that powers the device is of 110mAh that can last upto 20 days claimed by the Xiaomi.
Wrapping the review it can be said that Mi is thinking of the better future for the company by launching premium stuffs at budget price. Mi band is always my favorite fitness tracker because of the rate and the minimal design. The setting will take some time to complete because you have to go through a lot of steps to set your device correctly. I personally like the size and the strap because it perfectly fitted on my wrist. So if you are searching for a fitness tracker or you want to try some new tech then Mi band 3 is go for.
